When you think of Jump Up drum & bass from back in the day, one of the names you would think of would be The Prisoners of Technology !!!.
From P.O.T’s very first release (trick of technology) on Fresh kutt (1995)
record sales went ape, blowing up in the U.K, America, Amsterdam, Germany
the list goes on.
Every release tore its way through the core of the drum n bass scene getting top reviews from every respected angle. TMS 1's B Boy, all up in ya face, jungle style had infiltrated the D&B scene with a freshness no other sound could get in the ring with. The Prisoners of Technology went on to remix such names as N.W.A, Wu-Tang (Buddha Monk), 187 Lockdown, the Freestylers and the Beastie Boys (which claimed the number 1 position in most dance charts, inc the U.K national charts !!!! The P.O.T ripped up the airwaves of many pirates as well as mainstream stations like Radio 1 and Kiss fm. The concoction of TMS 1 and K-DUB'S deep b-boy hip hop root's, mashed together with uniquely twisted breaks and bass, resulted in to one of the most acclaimed and respected sounds on the streets of drum n bass. P.O.T stopped releasing tunes for fresh kutt back in 1998 leaving P.O.T to carry on with his work without being placed on trial by fools !!! lol.
TMS 1 aka the Prisoners of Technology went on and started up his own label
BATTLEMASTER RECORDS
and the story continues.
